The month of February marks the beginning of the enrollment period, and given the fantastic offer of various private school options in Puerto Vallarta it would seem like an overwhelming task to find which of these offers us the best education for our children. Each school has its promotions, discounts, and registration and re-enrollment fees. But how can you organize all this information in such a way that as parents you are able to make one of the decisions that will most impact the lives of your children?
Another difficulty when you are in search of a particular kindergarten, elementary school and junior high school, is related to the service children receive day by day. So as much as possible, it is important that once you have looked through the available options in Puerto Vallarta and reduced your potentials to 2 or 3, take your children to see the schools so that you can perceive how they feel about the school in question.
The first recommendation I would make is that you recognize that perfection does not exist. There are no perfect children, perfect families or perfect schools. Fortunately, when it comes to private schools there is the possibility of finding the one that best suits your family's style. These would be the steps that we suggest you use to help you in your search:
1.- Define the 5 most important criteria for you and prioritize them. For example: academic level, bilinguality, values, facilities, philosophy, academic requirements and general environment.
2.- Call or visit the schools and ask for information related to the 5 criteria you’ve defined from above, as well as the school’s fees.
3.- Because each school has different fees, concepts and collection dates, it is important that you annualize the expenses so that you can compare objectively. Make sure you ask about all types of costs such as transportation, lunch, uniforms, event fees, trips or costumes, the number of events that imply additional disbursements and if they are mandatory or optional, additional donations, etc. All this is important so you do not have any mid- year surprises.
4.- Compare the results and reduce your alternatives to the 2 schools that are the closest match to what you are looking for.
5.- Give yourself a deadline to make your decision, this way you and your children will enjoy the peace of mind of being registered. In addition, many of the private schools of Puerto Vallarta grant discounts for early registration.
During this registration season, we invite you to visit Ameyali, one of the private schools in Puerto Vallarta recognized for being participative in the community, and for being committed to caring for the environment. With a bilingual education program and a humanist approach, we are focused on the integral development of your children. During your visit we will answer all of your questions about our educational model, activities, as well as prices and the special Vallarta Centennial registration discount.
